Jacket by All Saints, Dress by Forever21, Sandals by Charles&Keith, Necklace by Ariel Gordon.
I must admit, I missed out on June’s must-haves, but am making up to you with these 4 babies. I call this the high-low list – 2 rather expensive items that I’d love to invest in, and 2 cheaper items that will be great additions to your wardrobe for the summer. Or in my case, additions to my wardrobe period, since there’s only summer here in Singapore all year round.
I also have to confess that I cheated a little, since I already own two of the items – but hey, shouldn’t I be sharing the good things? Also, since they’re must-haves, I should have them, no? The sandals are a huge must, comfortable and very chic (you might have seen them on my Instagram), while I await the floral romper to arrive. I’ll keep you updated, worry not. Other than that, still obsessed with everything pearl and everything leather. Why not? Point to note – leather jacket’s sleeves can be removed, turning it into a vest that’s perfect for chilly summer nights. SCORE.
Been feeling a tad uninspired to sit down and write recently – have had a lot on my mind, and been in a bit of an escapist. I’m thinking of taking the content here in another direction, maybe just up the notch by a bit. We’ll see how it goes.. I’m thinking of posting pictures from my phone that I’ve taken on a daily basis, but the quality of those might not make the cut in terms of quality. What do you guys think?
With the mess in my head right now, I thought it’d be best to let the pictures do the talking. I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of romance, which can be love itself or an expression or feeling of romance that comes out from your surroundings, as well as the idea of traveling and just being anywhere but here at the moment. (Escapist, like I said.)
Just… this song, has been on constant rotation in my head, even before I knew what the title was. I’d heard it somewhere before catching The Fault in Our Stars, and when I heard it in the movie, my heart soared and I literally started dancing in my seat, in the dark, while in the cinema. There’s such spirit and vibe to the song, with just the right amount of hope thrown in.
This is quite possibly my anthem for the summer, and I have a love-hate relationship with the scorching hot weather at the moment. I’d love to be in my one piece every single day, but obviously that’s not possible. And when I’m dressed for meetings, it is just too hot to handle. Everyone should be given the right to dress for the summer (I’m talking sheer whites, denim shorts, swimwear all around, and as little garment as possible) even when they need to go to work. How does one survive in a button down and pants in this heat?
The best thing about summer though (although technically it’s summer all year round here) is being able to sit on the porch late into the night, with a cigar or moscato in hand, and look up at the clear, cloudless sky, just to admire the clouds. Did anyone else notice how huge the moon was last night? (Taco moon supreme!) Sparklers or fireworks would be the icing on the cake here, so don’t forget to go check out the fireworks happening every Saturday till the first week of August — all in the name of Singapore’s birthday!
